NOTICE OF 2024 AGM

We look forward to seeing as many faces there as possible, the committee encourages you to stick around afterwards for a pub lunch.

PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE BURRUMBEEP CONSTITUTION

The AGM will be an important one. The Act that regulates Incorporated Associations like Burrumbeep changed in 2012, and our current constitution is rather out of date. A new constitution, based on the ‘Model Rules’ for an Incorporated Association, will be shared with the membership base for review ahead of the AGM. The new constitution has a clear, simple and modern set of rules, while ensuring the rights of the members and the things that make the club special are protected.

Further to the feedback received at the last AGM and after further consultation, the committee has also developed a revised ‘Life Membership’ proposal. There will be Special Resolutions to vote on both the new constitution, and the revised Life Membership proposal. We will provide a comprehensive explanation of the proposed changes. Please take the time to review it ahead of the AGM – and to send questions in advance to the committee – as it is an important and overdue change.

UPCOMING WORKING BEES

18 and 19 May

If you are able to attend we would love your assistance with getting the lodge ready for the season. The main jobs will include counting the stores, loading firewood, a deep clean of all areas, a hard rubbish collection as well as no doubt some fun thrown in!

There will be an April working bee as well, dates to be confirmed.

If you can’t attend the May weekend there is an opportunity for any member to be excluded from levy between now and the season commencing if they would like to undertake
o General cleaning
o Wood delivery
o Audit of supplies

Please advise Peter Leeke if you are able to attend, and enjoy a year off your Maintenance Levy as a result!

ACCOMODATION RATES & CHARGES FOR 2024

Please note the following regarding accomodation rates and membership charges for the upcoming season:

- Membership levies will increase from $300 to $400 inc gst
- Member accommodation rates to remain at $40 p/night
- Guest accommodation rates to remain at $75 p/night
- Visitor accommodation rates to be introduced at $100 p/night
